An Englishman was once travelling in the same compartment with a young German professor, who was in very high spirits. He explained that he was on a journey which he had looked forward to for a long time. He added: ‘The fact is I have just been married and I am on my honeymoon. The English man said: ‘Your honeymoon? But where is ...?’ ‘Ah!’ replied the professor, ‘my wife? She is not with me. We had not money enough to buy tickets for two!’
