When we have a question to ask, we may do it in various forms. Sometimes we begin the question with an interrogative pronoun, sometimes with an auxiliary verb, sometimes with an interrogative adverb, sometimes with verb or verbs omitted.

1. Who is that old lady over there?

2. Which tie are you going to put on?

3. What was it you told me about your dog?

4. Do you like plain chocolate?

5. Can you stand on your head?

6. Would you let me stay here for a little while?

7. Where did you get that rubber?

8. When are you likely to be at home?

9. Why are you crying?

10. Whose fault is it you are late? 

11. Whom did you get permission from?

12. Which way do you tie your Scout’s scarf? 

13. What will you do if you miss the train?

14. Had you met him before last Tuesday?

15. How dare you say such a thing?

16. Will you have milk or orange juice?

17. Were you ever struck by lightning?

18. Couldn’t you have warned him to be careful of snakes?

19. Wouldn’t it have been kinder to forgive him?
