There dwelt a miller hale and bold Beside the river Dee,
He wrought and sang from morn to night,
No lark more blithe than he;
And this the burden of his song For ever used to be :
‘I envy nobody, no, not I,
And nobody envies me.’

Paraphrase.

A strong and sturdy miller lived on the bank of the river Dee, where he worked all day, singing as happily as a lark. And what he always sang was that he envied nobody, and nobody envied him.

(Here you see how the old words wrought and blithe have been changed into worked and happy.)
